For replacing and removing joint box covers (with the exception of 21 & 22). This key is also perfectly suitable for use on Frame & Cover Unit Light and Frames & Covers Carriage Way 4. One side of the handle is chisel shaped for cleaning out cover key holes and the frame channels.

Key Lifting Carriageway 2A (D Key)

A steel tool for lifting E type and unit type covers of rectangular and square shape. The key is locked to the cover by an adjustable locking nut, then a jacking bolt is turned which bears against the frame to lift the cover. The yellow colour is to differentiate this metric version of the tool from the earlier Imperial Key Lifting Carriageway.

Manhole Cover Lifter

Used for lifting of all types of carriageway covers. Requires much less effort than lifting covers manually. Includes a handle for operating the hydraulic ram and another for manoeuvering the lifter. It can develop a 1.5 ton breakout force to move even the most awkward manhole cover. Can be simply assembled in under 30 seconds and requires neither skill or strength.

The lifter is mounted on three nylon wheels providing good stability during lifting and mobility whilst the cover is in the raised position. Lifting is acheived by means of a hydraulic ram, this is operated by a pumping action, lowering is acheived by a key-release valve. For moving over rough ground, a handle for lifting is provided.

Pre-stretched terylene rope for use by Rodding and Light cabling parties only. Supplied with a spliced eye at each end on wooden reels.
Rope Cabling 1 has a breaking strength of 2400 Kg. Rope Cabling 4 is double coated for very low friction and has a maximum breaking strength of 6000 Kg.

Cobra (Continuous Rods)

Continuous high quality coated fibreglass rod with brass end fittings and smooth profile guiding tip. This type of rodding is faster and more economical than the screw together type rods. The frame is of a rugged steel construction with zinc plating and an integral fully adjustable brake system fitted as standard. All frame and rod fittings are available as spares.

Connector Swivels

22mm 2A - For installing Optical Fibre cable with a central strength member in duct or sub-duct. This is a fused swivel connector used in conjunction with Connector SCM 2A. The fuse supplied has a breaking strength of 4kN, but replacements of various breaking strengths are available.

Grip Cable Fleeting Double Eye Open

Guide Cabling

For use in 90mm internal diameter duct during cable installation.

Guide Cabling 1 - is ideal for use where these is no significant angular deviation between the duct route and the cable leaving the duct mouth. Also used for cabling through jointing chambers where duct tracks are in line.

Guide Cabling 2 - is ideal for use where there is an angular deviation of less than 30 degrees between the duct route and the cable entering or leaving the duct mouth. Also used for cabling through jointing chambers where duct tracks are not in line.
